Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know

Who is eligible to apply for KYII productive assets?

Any young person residing within Takoradi Constituency who has a viable, value-addition, processing, or manufacturing business concept. Both individuals and youth cooperatives/partnerships are encouraged to apply.

Why is this strictly focused on value-addition & manufacturing?

Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah's objective is to build sustainable local industrial capacity in Takoradi. Value-addition multiplies the worth of local raw materials, builds enduring skills, and creates multiple downstream jobs compared to simply buying and reselling imported commodities.

Do beneficiaries receive physical cash or the actual machine?

Beneficiaries receive direct physical productive assets (e.g. processing units, welding plants, sewing machines, oil extractors, driers, or fabrication machinery) rather than cash. This guarantees that the capital is directly invested in productive capacity.

What is the "Cascading Effect" commitment?

To reach the ambitious goal of 6,000 entrepreneurs across households in Takoradi, every beneficiary signs a pledge to pay their empowerment forward. Once your enterprise becomes profitable, you commit to taking on apprentices, training young people in your neighborhood, or co-mentoring future applicants.
